A clear route from PRINCE2 Foundation to Practitioner
PRINCE2® Project Management provides a structured, adaptable method for planning, governing and delivering projects. The current Version 7 places additional emphasis on people, sustainability, digital and data management while retaining the principles, practices and processes that underpin the method.
For most learners, the certification journey begins with PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation before progressing to PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner. A combined five-day route is also available for learners who want to complete both levels in one programme.

PRINCE2 certification is deliberately simple to navigate. Foundation establishes knowledge of the method; Practitioner develops the ability to apply and tailor it in realistic project situations.

Current PeopleCert PRINCE2 digital badges show a three-year certification cycle. PeopleCert provides renewal routes through continuing professional development and further certification activity, so it is worth checking the latest PeopleCert requirements as your renewal date approaches.

PRINCE2 certification questions
Do I need experience for PRINCE2 Foundation?
There are no formal prerequisites for Foundation. Some exposure to projects can be helpful, but the course is designed to establish the core knowledge you need.
Can I go straight to Practitioner?
Practitioner has qualification prerequisites. PRINCE2 Foundation is the most common route, although PeopleCert also accepts certain recognised project-management qualifications.
Are the exams included?
Yes. ExperTrain's current PRINCE2 Foundation, Practitioner and combined certification courses include the relevant PeopleCert exam voucher or vouchers.
Is PRINCE2 Agile the same as PRINCE2 Project Management?
No. They are related but distinct certification routes. PRINCE2 Agile combines PRINCE2 governance with agile ways of working and has its own Foundation and Practitioner qualifications.
