Develop connected business applications by extending Microsoft Power Platform with custom code and AI. Explore advanced customisation, Power Apps code apps, Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio agents, alongside secure development and deployment practices.
Target Audience
Experienced Microsoft Power Platform developers who customise business solutions with code, build professional application experiences and integrate AI agents. The course also supports preparation for Exam AB-400 towards the Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate certification.

- Extend Dataverse using plug-ins, platform APIs and Azure services.

Course Content
Module 1: Extend Dataverse with code and Azure compute
- Start developing for Power Platform and implement Dataverse plug-ins.
- Prepare extensions for production, use Dataverse APIs reliably and diagnose API failures.
- Process Power Platform workloads with Azure Functions.
Module 2: Build professional Power Apps experiences
- Build code apps connected to Dataverse and platform services.
- Deploy and operate secure code apps.
- Apply client-side logic to model-driven apps and build reusable PCF controls.
Module 3: Build automation and agent integrations
- Implement resilient Power Automate cloud-flow logic.
- Use Dataverse MCP servers from MCP clients.
- Integrate custom agents with Microsoft Power Platform.
Module 4: Integrate Dataverse with services and external data
- Publish Dataverse events to external services.
- Synchronise external data reliably with Dataverse.
- Connect external APIs using Power Platform custom connectors.
Module 5: Design and deliver secure Power Platform solutions
- Evaluate implementation approaches and design extensible components.
- Deliver solutions through governed application lifecycle management.
Prerequisites
- Strong knowledge of Power Platform capabilities, constraints and extensibility.
- Knowledge of authentication, security and ALM practices.
- Experience with Power Platform developer tools, including Power Platform CLI.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development, Copilot Studio and agent concepts.
- Experience with Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code.
Exam and Certification
This course supports preparation for Exam AB-400: Extending Microsoft Power Platform Solutions with Code and AI. Course attendance does not award the certification.
