The Increasing Assertiveness course helps participants communicate their views, needs and expectations clearly while continuing to respect the views and rights of others. Assertiveness is different from aggression and does not require someone to become confrontational or change their personality.
Participants will explore the differences between passive, aggressive and assertive behaviour and consider how these approaches can affect workplace relationships and outcomes. Practical techniques will help participants express themselves more confidently, establish appropriate boundaries and respond constructively when faced with difficult or demanding situations.
The course can be particularly valuable for people who find it difficult to say no, challenge inappropriate behaviour, express disagreement, give their opinion or deal confidently with more dominant colleagues. Participants will have opportunities to consider how the techniques covered can be applied to situations they encounter in their own workplace.
You can join one of our upcoming public online Increasing Assertiveness course dates or arrange a private session for your team, delivered online via Microsoft Teams or onsite at your office. This practical professional development course includes guided discussion, workplace examples and action planning, with topics covering confident body language, active listening, emotional regulation, transactional analysis, saying no effectively and avoiding passive, aggressive or manipulative behaviour.
