How Much Does Private Excel Training Cost in the UK?

Private Excel training at ExperTrain starts at £895 for up to 10 delegates. That covers the whole group for a live online session on our core Excel courses or Power Query. Private VBA courses cost £1,295 for up to 10 delegates. Public Excel courses start at £150 per person. Prices exclude VAT, and onsite delivery adds trainer expenses.
Private vs public Excel course prices
On a public course, you book individual places in a live online class. A private booking reserves the session for your team. The prices below are for the full course shown, including the half-day Power Query course.
| Course and duration | Public per person | Private online per group |
|---|---|---|
| Excel Introduction 1 day | £150 | £895 |
| Excel Intermediate 1 day | £150 | £895 |
| Excel Advanced 1 day | £150 | £895 |
| Advanced Functions & Data Modelling 1 day | £150 | £895 |
| Excel Power Query Half day | £150 | £895 |
| Introduction to Excel Macros and VBA 1 day | £225 | £1,295 |
| Excel VBA Intermediate 1 day | £300 (on demand) | £1,295 |
| Excel VBA Advanced 1 day | £300 (on demand) | £1,295 |
Private online fees cover up to 10 delegates. The course listings show a maximum class size of 12. If you have 11 or 12 people, ask for a quote for the full group. VBA Intermediate and Advanced are scheduled on demand, so check availability before budgeting for individual places.
How much does onsite Excel training cost?
For courses offered onsite, the listed group fees are £895 for the core Excel courses and £1,295 for VBA, each for up to 10 delegates, plus trainer expenses. Share your location and headcount when you request a quote so we can confirm the total. The Power Query course advertises private online delivery. Ask us if you need it onsite.
When does private Excel training cost less?
For a course with £150 public places and an £895 private online fee, five public places cost £750. At six people, public places cost £900, so private online training starts to cost less. These examples assume everyone takes the same course. Totals exclude VAT.
| Delegates | Public total | Private online total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | £150 | £895 |
| 3 | £450 | £895 |
| 5 | £750 | £895 |
| 6 | £900 | £895 |
| 8 | £1,200 | £895 |
| 10 | £1,500 | £895 |
At 10 people, private online training works out at £89.50 per person, a total saving of £605 against ten £150 places. For VBA Introduction, six public places at £225 total £1,350, compared with £1,295 for a private online group. If you’re comparing onsite training, include trainer expenses in the calculation.
Which Excel course should your team take?
Start with the tasks people need to do at work. Introduction covers everyday spreadsheet skills and basic formulas. Intermediate helps people work with larger sheets, tables and functions. Advanced adds tools such as PivotTables, and Advanced Functions & Data Modelling goes further into complex formulas and Power Pivot. Choose Power Query for repeated data preparation or VBA for automating spreadsheet tasks.
Ask colleagues to take the free Excel Skills Assessment if you’re unsure where to start. If results span several levels, individual public places or separate private groups may suit the team better. You can compare all Excel courses or check upcoming public dates.
To request a private Excel training quote, tell us how many people need training, which topics they need and whether you prefer live online or onsite delivery. Prices checked on 7 November 2026.
